The reconstruction of our house did begin Monday. The fire blackened wood is gone and the electrician starts rewiring tomorrow. Fingers crossed that we shall never have a fire in our house again. We are taking every precaution. As we have heard that most fires are caused by wood-burning stoves, we have had all the drywall removed from around the hearth and the ceiling changed in the chimney. We also bought two extinguishers and every level of the four storey house will have a smoke alarm.

I will supervise the work and Rob will fly to Vancouver. Already I am feeling a little lonely. I wanted to see my family and friends.
